The Shopper Everyone Hates!

I should probably apologize for my previous post. It actually came across as pissy when I read back through it after calming down. So here's my apology for the pissy post (I have mentioned I suffer from 'post now, think later' syndrome before. Please forgive me for being a little psycho!? Good. Group hug!!)

Here's a less pissy post. Sort of.
It's about the day that was.
I, ever the genius, left Easter shopping until the last minute. Why, oh why!?

I pride myself on getting my Christmas shopping done by August. Yet, I left my Easter stuff until today. Why? Is it because Easter isn't as crazy as the Silly Season? So I assumed.

Turns out I was wrong.
Maneuvering a trolley with a baby clinging to the sides for dear life while I have a toddler in said trolley grabbing anything and everything within reach on the shelves is hard enough. I end up being an aisle blocker just so he can't reach anything. Add to my struggles, school holidays and frazzled mothers who also assumed they could get away with last minute Easter shopping, and we have some major issues.

I was nearly tripped up while holding my trolley on an escalator, by a boy who thought it would be hilarious to kick everyone on said escalator while his mother was screeching at him to stop it (me in 8 years, I bet!). I accidentally hit someone with the trolley, thus feeling like a total arse, and was abandoned by my Hubby at the register with unpaid for groceries while he ran to grab some milk. He then decided to pay for the milk at another register while I was left with the full trolley, two kids and a line up of angry shoppers who thought I was a total jerk for not paying and getting out of their way. Don't worry shoppers, I would have hated me, too!

I am now totally broke, and probably hated by 90% of the citizens in my town.

On the plus side, I got my Easter shopping done and now I have a house full of chocolate tempting me to eat it to feel better about my nightmare shopping adventure.

The only thing stopping me, I have no money and enough brain cells to know that shopping tomorrow is a really bad idea! BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

  1. I've managed to avoid the shops since Monday. Very grateful to friends who have gifted us with dairy/nut free eggs and to Project 18 where I ordered chocolate online :)

Shops are best avoided at any time during school holidays, but most especially around times like Easter and Christmas.

  2. I completely forgot about Easter craziness shopping too and now will have to brave the stores tomorrow with all the other mentals. So not looking forward to it. I hope you are relaxing after getting all of yours done... and resisting chocolate. That is the only plus side to not having gotten ours done yet.

  3. If it makes you feel better, I've not done that shop yet.

If anyone in my vicinity sees a bleary eyed manic looking woman with two kids in a pram and another two running away from her in the supermarket nightmare that is Easter Saturday, that would be me :s

  4. Why does everyone go stark raving mad when the shops are going to close for half a day or a day? I'm disorganised with the best of them but I just don't get why they have to behave like the sky is falling down! (grrr got some flustered-shopper still in me, and I didn't even go to the shops yesterday!)

  5. I hate the pre-public holiday shops. It's just one day, why does everyone go insane?!
I avoid the shops as much as possible in the lead up to public holidays, especially when there are a few in a row... because I just know I will develop a severe case of trolley rage and ram some poor person up the ankles for moving too slow.
