Letter to my Children

It has been a while between letters and so much has happened since my last one.
Master S, you have taken an interesting turn these past few weeks. The mature, grown up boy is gone, replaced by a chatterbox boy who can fly off the handle at any given time or place.
These past few weeks have seen your father and I successful in 'Operation: Ditch the Bottle'.
Yes, until a few weeks ago, you still had a bottle. You didn't use it during the day, or even during the night. You just cuddled it to you during nap times.
It was a comfort thing and you never wanted it until you saw it. So, when you were at a sleepover at Nana's house... We 'lost' the bottle.
You have thrown tantrums come afternoon nap time because you don't have the comfort... But not once have you asked for it.
Thanks to routine, I know when nap time is, so a public tantrum can be avoided, but sometimes it's not possible and you throw tantrums, regardless of where we are.
Miss E has learned to run. You no longer walk, you run. You're also learning new things. The one thing Master S has taught you, is how to shake your head 'no'. With you shaking your head 'no' and him answering every question with 'NO!', it's pretty tough doing anything to please you both.
But, I don't think you understand what the shaking of your head means and just do it to copy. You copy lots of things he does.
One positive thing he's taught you is 'bunny nose'. It's where you press your nose against mine and rub your nose on mine. It's like an Eskimo kiss. It's very sweet and it's the only time I enjoy seeing you both shaking your heads!
In all honesty, although you answer every question, including 'do you love Mummy?' with 'NO!', Master S, I don't think you quite understand, or mean, what you are saying.

You are both asleep, you aren't in bed because the top end of the house is like ice and it's warmer in the lounge room. I think we're camping out here tonight. I will write again soon when I am less exhausted. We had a big day out which resulted in you both being spoiled by Nana, much to my dismay. But you were both well behaved, so it wasn't all bad.

Lots of love and cuddles,
