This week I'm grateful for...

Lots of things.
So much has happened this past week that has made me realise how much I have to be grateful for.

1. I am grateful for having a computer.
I haven't been able to express my gratitude due to only having MiPhone, so I am definitely grateful for my computer. Also, grateful to my Mum, for buying a new computer, and giving me her old one.

2. I am grateful for the wonderful online community I have become a part of by blogging.
I started this blog to vent and remember life with young children as everyday goes by too quickly. I was rapt when my one follower became two. I have now cracked 100 followers since starting my blog in December and although completely unexpected, I am grateful and hope you'll all stick around to see where we end up.

3. I am grateful for the beautiful necklaces I received from AmbeRocks in the mail yesterday morning.
Miss E is teething. She cut one half an hour after this photo was taken. She maintained this beautiful happy face all day. Happy Bub, Happy Mum.

Aside from cracking it at BathTime when I have to take it off,
she's been a happy camper since receiving her "bling".

4. And lastly, I am grateful for the 12 seasons in which Christopher Meloni has been Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: S.V.U*
News broke today, that he is leaving the show... okay, I actually found out via St. Murphy, but still, I googled it, not because I think he would lie about something so serious, but because I needed to be informed about why he's going, and when it's happening. Turns out the website that announced his departure gave me nothing except knowledge that he is leaving, and dropping off the face of the earth by de-activating his Twitter & Facebook. I didn't even know he had either of these things! As Law & Order S.V.U is the only thing I would ignore my husband, if he were sporting a detached limb, for, I am a bit lost as to what to do when he leaves. It's the only thing I watch on television [aside from ABC2] and Stabler is the only reason I watch it. I may be in tears right now.
The chick who plays Olivia Benson is also rumoured to be leaving the show, but I don't like ogling her in her underwear, so I don't really give a hoot.

Fair-de-well Stabler. Image nicked from here.

Linking up with Maxabella Loves...
What are you grateful for this week? Head on over & share the linky love!

*If anyone would like to buy me all 12 seasons of Law & Order: S.V.U to make me feel better about the whole situation, I won't complain.!?

This week I'm grateful for... My Husband

When he found out I was pregnant, he stood by me.
He was there for my labours.
He changed nappies.
He woke up during the night & nursed our babies back to sleep.
He teaches them things.
He reads to them.
He tells them he loves them, and more importantly, he does.
I am grateful for him, his support & his love.

This week I'm grateful for... Loving & Being Loved

The first time I saw my kids, I understood what it meant to love unconditionally.
I felt an overwhelming surge of love that took over my whole body. I knew then and there, that I would walk through fire, step in front of a bus, and swim in a pool of sharks, for them, if I had to.
If I have one claim to fame in this lifetime, it is that I have given birth to two perfect little people, and to me THAT is worth more than anything else in the world.

Myself, Miss E., & Master S. after a fun morning at PlayGroup.

Then there is that tall handsome man I married. I still can't believe that 3 years ago [when he was less hairy, believe me] he picked me, and he promised to love me, and only me, for as long as he shall live.  Me?

Posing on our front porch, because let's face it, it's the cool thing to do.

Granted, there are days I want to stick him in the eyes with a pencil or even toss him in the oven and turn it on, or shove a pillow over his head... and I am sure he feels the same about me, but then I remember that out of every woman in the world, he decided that I was his favourite, and chose to spend his life with me.
I am lucky. The three people I love most in the world love me back just as much, if not more, and for THAT I am truly grateful.

This week I'm grateful for... Fly & Insect Spray.

What can I say?
With the heat, rain, heat, rain, heat-wave we've been having for the past few weeks, the creepy-crawlies are in need of somewhere awesome to live.
Unfortunately, that awesome place they wish to live is our house.

I am used to finding random bugs around,
Walking through webs,
Sucking the corpses of several flies up the vacuum,
BUT - something that even I am not used to - is the massive huntsmans(men?) that have been known to get into my house.

What makes it worse, is, I was on my way to bed, completely exhausted to the point I could not move the moment I flopped onto my bed, and I spotted one.
On the mirrored doors of my wardrobe.
What is worse than one huntsman?
A mirrored huntsman, that looks like two hunstmans(men?)

Anyway, I'm sleeping with one eye opened, it never moved.
I must have felt somewhat relaxed/tired as I vaguely recall waking to change a nappy, to notice the spider was gone.
It clearly didn't phase me, or I was too tired to understand the implications, but the minute the daylight seeped into my window I looked straight up and noticed it missing.
I searched every corner of my bedroom to no avail.

SHITBALLS.

What is worse than a mirrored huntsman?
A mirrored huntsman that goes MISSING.
I couldn't leave the room quick enough.
Did a run through of my whole house, checking potential hiding spots, when I could not find it,
I'd spray the shiznit out of the rooms with Insect spray.

Yeee-hawwww.!
I imagine I'll find the bugger's body at a later date when I am brave enough to venture up to the "spider-y" end of the house, until then, I am incredibly grateful to have my insect spray on stand-by.

This week I'm grateful for... Electricity

This past week on my spot on the map it has been ridiculously hot.
Without my Air-Con, I think my kids would have been more miserable than they were because of the heat.

Then, as quick as you can say "WHAT!?"
We had rain. Not just a little bit, a LOT of rain.
Pouring, puddle and mud making rain.
It was still hot, but there was no way in heck my washing was going to dry on the line.
That's where my nifty little dryer comes in.

We had a power outage last night.
Luckily, it lasted for less than 20 minutes.
Seriously, if it had've been longer, we would have been stuffed.
Why, you ask?
Everything in our house is electric, except our heater [which considering the weather we've been having, serves no purpose at the moment].
Our stove, oven, hot water, EVERYTHING is electric.
Without electricity, we were stuffed.
My whole life flashed before my eyes when the power went down.
[Not literally, but I came to realise just what we'd lost when it went down & it wasn't just the movie I was watching.!]
In under 20 minutes we were lit back up and the world made sense again.!

The Electricity Board is the new God.
Yes, "Let there be Light.!"

This week I'm grateful for... Health & Happiness

This past week further cements my belief that I am the luckiest girl in the world. With all the bad things I have seen people go through this week, it's hard not to be truly appreciative of all the positive in my own life, and the lives of those I love and care for.

We occasionally have an off day, but who doesn't!? I am incredibly lucky to have a beautiful, happy and healthy little family. I am grateful for my kidlets and hubby everyday, but more so this week. I couldn't imagine my life without them. They are my reason for being.

I am grateful for the good, the very good, the great, and even the minor hiccups along the way.

This week I'm grateful for... Being Busy

Aside from the joys of Mummyhood, I haven't had much to look forward to of late. This past week has been amazing. I have had great company & a lot of plans to keep me busy, distracted and happy.

Even cleaning up my little man after he insisted on painting himself with red paint was exciting for me, as it kept me doing something out of the ordinary. Dragging me out of what has been a mundane cycle the past few weeks.
